Our office hours are Tuesday through Friday,
9:00 am to noon. Our Sunday worship service is at 10:00 a.m. in person, including Sunday School for children. After worship we have a time for fellowship. The CDC currently rates Albany County with low community spread, so masks not required. The middle pews are open. The right side pews (next to the windows) are taped off for those who would like to maintain social distancing. No objects, like offering plates or communion elements, are being passed hand-to-hand. If you cannot join us in person, recorded worship from previous weeks is available (see below). |

Holy Week Services
Kids’ Easter Song! Our kids will be singing a song in worship on Easter Sunday, March 31. They will be practicing this Sunday in the sanctuary after worship. All kids are welcome and encouraged to join in! Our March Mission is the CROP Hunger Walk (taking place on May 5). The CROP Walk is more than just a yearly gathering. It's a movement that's 55 years strong, made up of compassionate people in more than 500 communities across the United States. CROP Hunger Walks are community-based walk fundraising events created to support the global mission of Church World Service, a faith-based organization transforming communities around the globe through just and sustainable responses to hunger, poverty, displacement and disaster. Twenty five percent of the funds raised will go to hunger-fighting programs in our local community. The remainder will go to grassroots development efforts around the world to help provide food and water, as well as resources that empower people to meet their own needs. Next Sunday, March 24, is our monthly collection for New Scotland Community Food Pantry. There will be a box in the lobby to accept your donations of non-perishable food items, paper goods, or personal care products. This month they specifically need cake mixes, frosting, Jello, shampoo and cereal. There will also be a basket for money contributions. All money collected goes to Heifer Project and the New Scotland Community Food Pantry. Lenten Study every Tuesday at 6:00 pm through April 2. Each week is an opportunity to discuss and reflect on the Lenten devotional for “A Wandering Heart: Figuring out faith with Peter.” Copies of the devotional are available. We meet in a hybrid format; in person at the Methodist Church and on Zoom. See the Rev. Cameron for Zoom link. Lenten Daily Devotional Cards are on the lobby table. There is a card for each day of Lent which includes a focus question and prayer. All are welcome to take a set. Pot Luck Coffee Hour this Sunday: We will have a “pot luck” time of Fellowship downstairs after today’s service. Coffee, tea, juice and paper goods will be set up as usual, but we ask all who wish to bring a small edible contribution to share with everyone. It doesn’t have to be fancy, just something to nibble on. Fish Fry Fridays at New Salem Fire Department (694 New Salem Road, Voorheesville) from 4:30 to 7:00 pm on March 15 and 22. Fresh haddock, French fries, homemade coleslaw, cocktail and tartar sauce ($15), and New England clam chowder ($5). Book Discussion: “Inconspicuous Consumption,” by Tatiana Schlossberg. We are meeting by Zoom on Tuesdays at 2:00 p.m. through March 26. All are welcome! Fair Trade items are for sale in the dining room. All items are at cost and include coffee, tea, chocolate and olive oil. Check out the bins on the Fair Trade table! |

the Glory of God in celebration of Easter 2023.
"Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Keep on doing the things that you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you."
